Jump into spring with a trip to one of Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industry’s 15 retail locations throughout Massachusetts. After a long winter, every home needs a splash of color, and nowhere is it easier to add a dash than at one of our Goodwill stores. This issue, we searched out tiny touches to enhance your home’s original beauty without spending a fortune. In fact, all together, our shopper spent no more than $100 and she found gorgeous items for throughout your home.

No matter what your ideal color palette refresh might be, it’s easy to accent any room with a little creative thrifting.

Dare to Dream at Goodwill

Every mudroom deserves a gorgeous view, and yours is no exception. Visualize your next Caribbean vacay with this artwork of boaters reveling in a sun-infused harbor. Our shopper paired this inviting scene with a Mediterranean blue and white cotton basket —  just perfect for wandering sandals. The east coast summer vibe is complemented by an oversized faux wicker weave clock in temperate tans. This trio creates an easy way to stash towels, and remind you to plan your next escape!

Refresh Your Rest with Warm Shades of Summer

It’s always a little scary, and expensive, to try a new color in your bedroom. That’s why searching out big changes at Goodwill can make refreshing your color palette completely stress-free. Here we adventured into a new look with forest green drapes for less than $5. The earthy feel expands decorating options to all dimensions of organic. Add golden shades of yellow with this adorable water pitcher. (Imagine it stuffed with wild flowers!) And, indulge in a selection of dainty pillowcases threaded with sprigs of pink dahlias. By diving into a color as versatile as dark green from Goodwill, you’re sure to open up your home to an array of new, vibrant looks without losing sleep!

Got a Small Space that Needs a Big Color?

How to add pop and verve to a little area? What about a big, bright rug? Nothing’s more outgoing than Bohemian (or, really, as indulgent). Why, there are literally a dozen colors in a single piece. This absolutely new 3’x5’ Chindi accent rug set us back about $17.  In our outing, we selected a fern green throw pillow as well as a light, lime-yellow pillow to highlight the rug’s summery tones. The three items offer a stepping stone to reinvigorating even the tiniest of spaces. The best part? Next fall, simply switch out the pillows to earth tones and the update is done!

Fill An Empty Wall with an Interesting Twist on an Old Theme

We all know the value of baskets. They hold our electronic gadgets, adorn our side tables, and shelter food in kitchens. Yet, many of these everyday household items harbor interesting designs, textures, and even histories. Unfortunately, no one notices their beauty. Take a different tack this season and create a gallery wall out of found wicker, woven baskets. Simply attach the back of the basket to the wall as you would any frame. Here we selected two large, oversized flat baskets and paired them with a Mexican-fired wall planter. We suggest you continue the hunt and add several more to burnish your gallery wall with warmth and interest.
