I will donate: Join the Donate Movement and support your community and help the planet.
Put Your Clothes to Work is an important corporate clothing drive that helps community-based job trainees overcome one of the greatest obstacles to getting and keeping a job -- owning appropriate interview/work attire. The drive is planned and organized by a committee composed of key sponsors.
The Clothing Drive is conducted annually over a period of several weeks, with 30-50 companies choosing a specific week or two weeks for their drive. Companies are provided marketing materials about the drive, along with bins and racks to collect the clothing. Goodwill schedules a specific date and time to pick up the donations.
A Benefit Reception in May kicks off the drive. It is an opportunity for representatives of companies that conduct drives, donors to the drive and other people, primarily business people, to gather and launch the drive together. Highlights of the reception include remarks by a Goodwill job training participant who has benefited from the drive.
All clothing donated benefits the Goodwill Clothing Collaborative for Job Trainees. Learn more about the Clothing Collaborative.
