Pierre Jovin - I Will Work
Pierre Jovin is a fighter.
Despite being unemployed since 2009, he never gave up hope and never stopped looking.
Pierre, who moved to the United States from Haiti when he was 16 years old, had worked in finance for many years, but saw his future in human services.
At Goodwill, he enrolled in the Human Services Employment Ladder Program (HELP) where he found his true calling.
Jovin is now a full-time employee at Pine Street Inn. “It was scary in the beginning, being unemployed,” he said. “But I found the help I need at Goodwill. It was perfect for me.”
The Goodwill Stores are run as social enterprises, meaning they support Goodwill’s mission to provide job training for individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment while also providing jobs and good quality, low-cost goods to individuals and families looking for value.
